Jobs Lost and Created by AI-why AI changed old jobs? – Uzma Gulzar

AI is shaping our future. Many people are still unaware of what AI is. I also wasn’t aware of it before. Now I am going to tell you about AI and share some useful information.

AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. It means a technology that works like a human or takes the place of a human. Due to AI, jobs lost and created by AI are now a common topic in the world. Many old jobs have been lost, while new types of jobs are also being created.

The jobs that were based on basic human skills and personal experience have been affected because of AI. Another benefit of AI is that it works continuously and does not get tired like humans.

Jobs Lost by AI

Many jobs have been lost because of Artificial Intelligence. I will tell you about some important jobs that people are really sad about losing.

Let’s see:

  1. Office Jobs
  2. Factory Jobs
  3. Customer Service Jobs
  4. Legal Assistant Jobs
  5. Shop and Delivery Jobs

Now, let’s discuss these jobs lost by AI one by one:

1. Office Jobs

In an office, there are many kinds of jobs, like data entry clerks, content writers, call centre agents, cashiers, and legal assistants. Many of these jobs have ended because of AI. Now, AI is doing the work of a whole team in many offices.

The bosses are happy because they do not have to give salaries and other benefits. AI works fast and without making mistakes, so they prefer it.

2. Factory Jobs

In factories, AI has replaced many jobs that people used to do with medium qualifications. In both private and government factories, most work is now done by AI. So, jobs like packing products, welding, loading, checking, and sorting data are no longer available as before.
AI has taken the place of workers who used to spend many hours doing these tasks, but AI can do them in minutes.

3. Customer service jobs

The jobs we do at local levels to serve customers are called customer service jobs. These include receptionist jobs, call center jobs, and mobile customer service. Many of these jobs have been replaced because AI now provides information clearly and quickly, without any hesitation.

Now, in law and courts, AI is also being used. Many legal assistant jobs, such as document review specialists, legal research assistants, compliance assistants, and legal operations coordinators, have been replaced by AI.

Now there is less need for workers because AI can search past cases, review documents, support lawyers, and create reports quickly.

5. Shop and Delivery Jobs

In the modern era, many people prefer online shopping and do not go to shops because of their busy lives. Online shopping makes life easier. AI also helps in tracking parcels, keeping records, and managing on-time delivery.

Because of this, jobs like cashier, driver assistant, sales assistant, and loading worker are decreasing.

Jobs Created by AI

In 2026, AI has created many new types of jobs and will continue to create even more opportunities for people in the future.

The top five jobs created by AI at the professional level are:

  1. Machine Learning Engineer
  2. Data Engineer
  3. Prompt Engineer
  4. Chat-bot Manager
  5. Digital Content Reviewer

Let’s move toward the jobs that AI has created:

1. Machine Learning Engineer Jobs

Its short form is MLE, which means Machine Learning Engineer. AI has created these jobs for IT students or those who are interested in technology. This job gives a high salary and does not always demand very high qualifications. The MLE job includes managing and cleaning data, making computer models for the future, and testing them. They hire a team that works properly to support AI models.

2. Data Engineer Jobs

The demand for this job is very high. At the international level, a person can earn in dollars. There are no high requirements for joining this job. We can apply for this job with our professional skills, but a BSc qualification is the best way to secure a position in this role.

It is also called the manager of data. This job collects all types of data, then cleans it, makes proper adjustments according to the demand, and checks for mistakes in the data. Many companies work at a professional level and demand accurate data from them.

3. Prompt Engineer Jobs

The basic concept of an AI tool is based on prompts. The role of a Prompt Engineer is to check AI tools. If the AI tool does not work properly, he improves it for better use. He also tests AI tools and AI systems to make sure they work correctly.

This job only needs skills, like good writing skills and basic knowledge of AI tools and their uses. Companies want a person who can create prompts that help AI give correct and complete information.

4. Chat-bot Manager Jobs

A chat-bot is a software that works under the control of a person called a Chat-bot Manager. This job is useful for those who have knowledge of technology, know how to handle chat-bot messages, know how to check data, and mainly test whether the chat-bot works properly or not.

Chat-bots are becoming famous because of their fast service for customers. So, companies need a person who has complete information about chat-bots and knows how to work on them. The salary package for this job is also good.

5. Digital Content Reviewer Jobs

This job is for social media work. It includes checking comments on posts, finding fake accounts, and removing different types of violence and hate speech.

AI does not work exactly like the human eye, so humans and AI work together to solve these problems.

This job requires skills like basic English reading and good observation. There is no special degree required for this job.

Conclusion

The summary of all this is that jobs lost and created by AI have changed the way we work. AI has become a quick and easy tool to help us. Now, many people will prefer to use AI tools in daily tasks. So, we should not fear AI. Instead, we should learn how to use these tools for our better future.

AI is nothing without humans. Yes, it has replaced some human skills, but remember that AI is also made by humans. So, without any fear, we should learn from AI and improve our skills. In real life, we must stay updated, learn new skills, and adjust ourselves with the changing world. If we do this, we will not only save our jobs but also create new opportunities for ourselves.
